Following a series of focus groups with fund managers, Hedgeweek is launching a new annual programme in late November 2023. This has been designed by a fund manager to help emerging managers enhance their business growth opportunities.

As the investment marketplace has become increasingly competitive and it has become harder to stand out from your peers, we recognise that there are two areas where we can add value to fund managers.

Our programme will provide quarterly events where you will receive advice and strategic direction from senior industry practitioners, married with informative investor panels plus the opportunity to build future relationships. Two events will be held physically in relaxed and informal, limited place events. Other events will be held online.

Additionally, we recognise that the quality and recognition of a firm’s brand is key to raising assets. As part of our annual programme, we are offering managers the opportunity to have a directory listing on Hedgeweek’s website and the ability to post thought pieces and company news.

Hedgeweek’s daily newsletters have a wide & global subscription base with c. 25% being members of the allocator community. As well as getting your brand in front of a wider audience, you will also benefit from a better SEO ranking to boost your visibility.

This is a low-cost solution to boosting your business development activities at a time when costs need to be manageable to ensure success.

Managers who join the programme will be offered the opportunity of the directory listing immediately upon signing up. This will be extended through to year end 2024.

The programme will provide managers with access to strategic growth advice, connections and introductions from an industry veteran, who understands the issues faced by emerging firms and the need for creative solutions.

Receive quarterly reports with useful insights relating to asset raising and investor activity.

This annual programme may be thought of as an outsourced Chief Marketing Officer service (“OCMO”).

Icon

This is an opportunity to meet a small cohort of emerging managers (sub $500m in AUM and < five years’ track record), in an informal environment.

Investors are invited to attend an allocator-only networking breakfast before the event, hosted by GFM.

Icon

Investors will be encouraged to join managers for a short coffee break after their panel – a quick “get to know the manager”, before the managers proceed to their dedicated session of the event.

Icon

Investor focus groups will be carried out to determine topics for investor panels, which will be insightful for emerging managers.
