JACK INGLIS

MADS INGWAR

Jack Inglis is the CEO of the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA*). He has been in the financial services industry and closely involved with hedge funds

for over 30 years.


Jack has held senior management positions at both Morgan Stanley, where he served for 16 years, and Barclays, where he was prior to joining AIMA. From 2007 to 2010 he was CEO of London based hedge fund manager, Ferox Capital Management.


He served as a non-executive director of London Capital Group plc from 2007 to 2010 and currently sits on the board of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association (CAIA). He began his career in 1983 at UK stockbrokers James Capel.


Jack holds a Master of Arts in Economics from Cambridge University. Jack is also Chair of the charity HFC Help for Children UK Affiliate Board and took up this role in January 2020.


Jack is currently CEO of AIMA.

Mads Ingwar is CEO and co-founder of Kvasir Technologies, a high performing quantitative AI hedge fund.


Kvasir strives to build and train machine learning models and neural networks that incorporate and model the fundamental cause-and-effects in the market.


Previously, Mads had a long track record in the financial sector having worked with a number of the leading banks, pension and investment companies in the Nordics.


Mads holds a PhD in Machine Learning from the Technical University of Denmark and University College London and a MSc in Computer Science from the Technical University of Denmark and Trinity College Dublin.


Mads is currently Co-Founder & CEO at Kvasir Technologies.

John Bryant was named Options CTO in November 2012 having first joined the company in mid-2008 as Head of Technology for Europe, where he oversaw the development of the European Momentum and Velocity low-latency market data product portfolios in addition to managing the company’s European data centre expansion program.


John has a wealth of experience in capital markets technologies including trading, market data, data applications and straight-through processing. He holds a joint bachelor’s degree in French and Spanish from Liverpool University, holds a certification from the ITIL Foundation, and is a Prince II Practitioner. John has been heavily involved in Options’ migration to Microsoft 365.


John is currently CTO at Options Technology.

JOHN BRYANT

OLIVER DOBBS

Oliver Dobbs is CIO, Partner and Portfolio Manager at Credere Capital LLC.


Oliver has extensive experience as a CIO and Portfolio Manager. He has worked for 3 top tier hedge fund firms (Tribeca, CQS, BlueCrest), where he managed up to USD 2bn. Before founding Credere Capital, Oliver was a portfolio manager at BlueCrest Capital. Prior to this, he was a portfolio manager at CQS.


Previously Oliver was Head of Credit & Equities at Citigroup Tribeca, where he managed USD 2.2bn. Prior to this, Oliver was Head of Asia/Japan Trading at Nikko Citigroup. Oliver started his career at Goldman Sachs, as an associate trading convertibles and OTC derivatives under Michael Hintze. He then moved to the role of Vice President, with his last role being Co-Head of International Trading.


Oliver is currently CIO at Credere Capital LLC.

GEORGE RALPH

As Managing Director of RFA, George is a technology and business leader with a proven track record of strategic alignment, process improvement and guidance.


Having been both a COO and a CTO of his own technology firms over a nineteen-year period, he looks to provide transparent guidance to every business he serves and the people he leads.


George has extensive delivery and technical experience in network and server architecture, large-scale migrations utilising leading technology brands, and IaaS offerings.


An Assessor for the British Computer Society (The institute of IT) and a Certified IT professional, George is keen to ensure that the RFA gives clients the highest levels of service.


George is currently Managing Director at RFA.


PHILLIP CHAPPLE

Phillip Chapple is the COO of Monterone Partners LLP. He has been involved in the financial services industry since 1997.


From 2010 to 2015 Mr. Chapple was the founder of the London branch of KB Associates where he focused on assisting fund managers to build investor friendly operational infrastructures and prepare for investor due diligence.


Prior to joining KB Associates, Mr. Chapple was CFO/COO of Ironshield Capital Management LLP, a European Distressed investment management company. Previously he was COO at IBIS Asset Management, a $10bn family office, and Head of Operations at OLEA Capital. Mr. Chapple had commenced his career at Morgan Stanley before spending a number of years in prime brokerage at both Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch.


Mr. Chapple holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours (LLB) from Exeter University.


Phillip is currently COO at Monterone Partners LLP.

WILLIAM CALLANAN

William Callanan is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Syzygy Investment Advisory Ltd, an Advisory firm launched in April 2019, centered upon on Global Macroeconomic thematic alpha generation for long duration pools of investment capital such as family offices, endowments, sovereign wealth funds, superannuation funds and pensions.


Syzygy’s research efforts are primarily focused on the Geopolitical and Geo-economic implications of US-China “Great Power Competition” on the macro investment matrix, Industrial Cyclical companies and global Commodities markets.


William is a 25 year veteran of the investment management industry and a global macro hedge fund specialist, having been Senior Strategist for the CIO pools of Capital at Soros Fund Management and the CIO of two large commodity hedge fund businesses.


William is currently Founder and CEO at Syzygy Investment Advisory Ltd.

MARC DE KLOE

Marc de Kloe joined Theta in 2019 and is responsible for strategy, operations, product development and client relations. Marc has an extensive investment background covering the full range of alternative investments.


Marc started at Clifford Chance in Germany as a foreign associate in private equity, more recently as Global Head of Funds and Alternatives at ABN AMRO Private Banking based in Amsterdam and finally as COO of Adamas Asset Management a Hong Kong based Private Credit Manager. In addition, Marc co-founded Alternatives4Children, an industry supported charity raising money for children’s education.


Marc holds an LL.B in English and German Law from the University of Kent, Canterbury (U.K.) in 1996, an LL.M in European Business Law from the University of Amsterdam in 1999 and an M.B.A from the Vlerick Business School in Belgium in 2004.


Marc is currently Partner at Theta Capital Management.

ANNE-SOPHIE D'ANDLAU

Anne-Sophie d’Andlau co-founded CIAM in 2010 and is responsible for the fund’s strategy and development. Anne-Sophie has 25 years of experience in corporate finance and the event driven sphere.


Prior to founding CIAM, she worked at Systeia Capital Management (acquired by Amundi) from 2001 to 2008, as Head of Research for the Event Driven and M&A strategies, before taking on a portfolio management role from 2003 to 2008.


Prior to that, Anne-Sophie worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers from 1995 to 2001 and acquired a strong corporate finance experience, initially within the audit and due-diligence department, then as an M&A advisor.


She is a graduate of the Rouen Business School (NEOMA).


Anne-Sophie is currently Partner, Deputy CEO at CIAM.

MATTHEW ROBERTS

Matthew is Head of Fulcrum Alternative Strategies.


Before joining Fulcrum in 2018 to run Fulcrum Alternative Strategies, Matthew had been a Portfolio Manager for the Towers Watson Partners Fund since 2014 and before that a manager researcher in fixed income, hedge funds and other alternatives since 2005.


Matthew holds a BSc in Economics and Finance (2005) from University of Bristol. He has been a CFA charterholder since 2009.


Matthew is currently Partner, Fulcrum Alternative Strategies at Fulcrum Asset Management.

Nick Mazing is Director of Research for Sentieo, a financial and corporate research platform for executives, investment analysts, and researchers.


His career also includes having worked on both the buy side and on the sell side at Lehman Brothers.


He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and is based in Sentieo’s New York City office.


Nick is currently Head of Research at Sentieo.

NICK MAZING

NICK TTOFIAS

Nick Ttofias joined Aspect Capital, the $8.4bn systematic investment manager, in June 2002 and is responsible for ensuring that Aspect’s state of the art technology and infrastructure support the firm’s strategic growth.


In this role, Nick looks for opportunities to improved efficiency, effectiveness and resilience capability across all of Aspect’s environments, including the overall trading infrastructure, all business services, cloud infrastructure, Business Continuity and, Cyber Security.


Nick is currently Director of Production IT at Aspect Capital.

ALBERTUS RIGTER

Albertus Rigter joined Astra in Q1 2019 from LGT Capital Partners Ltd. in Switzerland, where he was a Partner, Portfolio Manager of LGT’s Crown Distressed Credit Opportunities Funds, Co-Head of Multi-Style Team, and Member of the Investment Committee.


Before joining LGT in June 2008, Albertus worked at Dexia Asset Management where from 2004, he was responsible for event driven and emerging markets strategies and was a member of the investment committee.


Albertus received his Bachelor’s degree in International Management in 1999 from the International School of Economics Rotterdam and Groupe ESC Bordeaux, his Master’s degree in Economics (Cum Laude) and a Masters degree in International Finance (Summa Cum Laude) from the University of Nancy II in 2001 and Albertus became a CFA Charterholder in 2004.


Albertus is currently Partner and Member of the Investment Team at Astra Asset Management UK Limited.

Mike is Head of Prudential at Wheelhouse Advisors. He leads the delivery of prudential consulting and regulatory reporting services to clients, with responsibility for technical interpretation of new and existing rules, and internal and external prudential training.


A chartered accountant, Mike has over 10 years’ experience providing accounting and prudential compliance advice to clients, including fund managers, investment advisers, corporate finance and brokers.


Mike and his team specialise in designing effective and efficient solutions for clients to meet the increasing regulatory reporting and prudential burden.


Emerging managers are guided through the operational, commercial and regulatory processes in preparation for launch.


Mike is currently Head of Prudential at Wheelhouse Advisors.

MICHAEL CHAMBERS

DAMIEN REGNIER

Damien joined Tyrus Capital from Tyndaris where he headed the convertible business. Prior to Tyndaris, Damien was the portfolio manager for Global Convertible Bonds for several entities of the Deutsche Bank group in Frankfurt with USD 4.5 bn of assets.


Previously, he was a founding member of Vega-Chi Ltd. covering European and Asian Convertibles operations and at JP Morgan as a member of the EMEA Convertible Trading & Arbitrage team.


Damien is an Actuary with his research thesis on "Convertible bonds: models & strategies" from the University Claude-Bernard Lyon I in France in partnership with the Institute of Actuarial Sciences and Insurance (ISFA).


He also holds a MSc in Finance & Investment from Queen Mary University.


Damien is currently Portfolio Manager, Global Convertibles at Tyrus Capital.

PATRICK TREW

Pat is the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer of Maniyar Capital, a quantitative macro fund manager.


Prior to this, Pat was a Partner and Chief Risk Officer at CQS for sixteen years where he was also responsible for the Compliance and Internal Audit functions.


Before joining CQS, Pat was an Executive Director and Co-Head of Collateralised Lending Risk Management at Lehman Brothers and previously held risk management positions at CSFB, WestLB and Tokai.


Pat began his career as an Auditor with EY in 1991. Pat holds an MA in Physiological Sciences (Medicine) from Oxford University.


Patrick is currently Chief Risk and Compliance Officer at Maniyar Capital.

Charlotte Thorne is a founding partner and Co-Chair of Capital Generation Partners, a multi award-winning investment management firm serving clients in the Ultra High Net Worth space.


She is a member of the firm’s investment committees, bringing her understanding of client investment and structuring needs to the investment process. Charlotte has a background in financial policy having spent several years at HM Treasury advising Conservative and Labour Chancellors on issues including corporation tax and pensions policy before working in Brussels in the Diplomatic Service during the launch of the euro.


She also worked at the FSA advising on European and consumer policy. Charlotte has a degree in Politics Philosophy and Economics from Oxford.


Charlotte is currently Founding Partner and Co-Chair at Capital Generation Partners.

CHARLOTTE THORNE

SARA REJAL

Sara Rejal is Head of the Liquid Diversifying Manager Research team of Willis Towers Watson, responsible for diversifying hedge fund, alternative beta, reinsurance, multi asset and liquid multi-manager strategies.


She is also a member of the Global Portfolio Management Group and the investment committee of the Diversifying Strategies Fund.


Sara joined Willis Towers Watson in January 2014 and prior to this was at HSBC for seven years in the London, New York and Geneva offices of the Alternative Investment Group.


From 2005 – 2006 she worked for Ford Motor Company. Sara graduated from Imperial College, London with a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (MEng).


Sara is currently Head of Liquid Diversifying Research at Willis Towers Watson.

JONAS MARTENSON

Jonas Martenson is the Founder of Resscapital AB in Stockholm, Sweden. The company is regulated by the Swedish FSA as an alternative investment fund manager (AIFM).The company manages Ress Life Investments, which is listed at NASDAQ Copenhagen.


The fund was launched in 2011 and has gradually built a diversified life insurance portfolio through buying single policies. During a number of years, Jonas Martenson worked at major investment banks in London, including Schroders, Bear Stearns and Merrill Lynch where he structured and sold OTC derivative products to European institutional investors.


Mr. Martenson received his Master of Science in International Economics from Gothenburg School of Economics in Sweden.


Jonas is currently Founder and Director at Resscapital AB.

JUSTIN SYCAMORE

Justin Sycamore leads SS&C Eze’s sales and business development efforts in EMEA.


He joined Eze in 2018 from Algomi, where he was the global head of buy-side sales.


Justin began his career in fintech in 1996, and since then has worked for several buyside technology vendors—both startups and well-established firms—in senior roles.


He also built his own software company from scratch, which he took to profitability and sold in 2016.


Justin is currently Director of Sales, EMEA at SS&C Eze.


Jerome is the founder and CEO of Laven. He has a broad degree of expertise in the fund management industries, specialising in operational risk and regulatory matters with a focus on the alternative sector.


Through his work as a consultant, he has covered many funds of hedge funds and single strategies covering equity long-short, fixed income, and credit. Jerome is also the author of the Financial Times Guide to Investing in Funds.


Jerome is currently Founder and CEO at Laven.

JEROME LUSSAN

RON BISCARDI

Ron Biscardi is the CEO and Co-Founder of iConnections. Ron has over 25 years of experience in the alternative investment industry, and has closed over 20 seed deals and deployed over $600 million in capital.


His achievements include building the world’s largest capital introduction conference which takes place annually in Miami Beach. In April 2020, he founded iConnections, an online community for alternative investment professionals with philanthropy at its heart. Funds4Food, the first event organized by iConnections, raised $1.9 million for victims of the global pandemic.


iConnections has hosted some of the largest events in the industry in partnership with AIMA and 100 Women in Finance.


Ron is currently CEO & Co-Founder at iConnections.

REBECCA XUEREB

Rebecca currently holds the role of Business Development Manager at BOV Fund Services Ltd, the fund administration arm of the Bank of Valletta Group, Malta’s largest banking group.


BOV Fund Services is Malta’s leading fund services provider, assisting fund managers and fund promoters from various domiciles in successfully structuring their retail and alternative funds and asset management operations in Malta, and offering a full suite of fund administration and back-office services.


Rebecca joined BOV Fund Services in 2018 following successful completion of a BA in Business Management with Law and an MSc in Finance.


Rebecca is currently Business Development Manager at BOV Fund Services Ltd.

JAMES ORME-SMITH

James Orme-Smith is the CEO and CRO for Sandbar Asset Management, a London

based firm managing a global equity

market neutral strategy.


Prior to Sandbar, James was the CEO & CRO for Eisenstat Capital Partners for four years. Before that he worked for global investment banks for 13 years, starting in equity research sales and then for nine years in prime brokerage. Before entering finance,

James served in the British Army with the

Irish Guards and

Airborne Forces.


Over seven years James spent much of his time on operations or managing training tasks in the Middle East, Africa and Asia.


James is currently CEO & CRO at Sandbar Asset Management. 

MONEL AMIN

Monel is founder & CEO of DiligenceVault - a digital diligence platform for the investment management industry that powers diligence and information exchange for over 18,000 platform users.


Prior to founding the firm, she was head of risk for liquid investments at Citi with oversight for hedge fund, pensions, insurance, and fund of funds businesses.


She holds an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University and a BE from Birla Vishwakarma Mahavidyalaya, India.
